Mike Model

I've been working on a model for quite about 2 months now, the first couple of weeks I got a lot of it laid out with the basic topology but haven't been able to work on it for awhile till tonight. Worked on the hand mostly. Still have a bit to go but then hopefully going to rigg this model & come up with some storyboard to animate him.

Photo of the Night

After watching Skyline I quickly took a photo of my car placed nicely in the parking structure. Photo was shot with my cell phone by the way. Edited in photoshop.

Walk Cycles!

So in my animation one class at SMC we are learning walk cycles.
I was pretty concentrated with the in spacing in the in between frames of the key poses, i was having trouble with it at first but then kept on going at it to get it pretty solid the first time so i would have as many fixes to do when i finalize it with the body.

Can't wait to get a complete body on this one. Hopefully I get more of the other projects up on here, I'll have to scan them in though cause we just tape them all on the "animation lunchboxes" (the old school way of recording animation).

Later I will bring scan all the frames into the computer fix & color them in illustrator & then bring it to after effects for the full composite when I get it all finalized & the body put on it. SIKED!

(bad idea to record it with a phone, ha)

Busy Bee!

Currently I'm working on a business card. FINALLY!

Here is my first concept. Idea of it was that I work in motion design, which is RBG colors, as well as the first letters in my first three names are "JPR" so I thought I would combine them both since both RBG & "JPR" were three characters, or colors, each.

I'm going to deff play around with some more designs with the concept.

Screen Capture of work in progress on Illustrator:

Also here are a couple of photos taken with my blackberry bold of my figure drawings from my figure drawing class at SMC.

This model was by far my favorite, she was quite a curvy model which made it quite easy to capture the structure of the body. I had a model this past week that had an extremely stiff frame that I could just not get past, ha. The difference in the models really stood out, had quite a struggle.

Well till next post, keep it golden you people!

Yawn Filming D-Day

Yesterday was the day Veesh, Paul, & I filmed the intro to Veesh's year long BMX video. We had a specific location to film in Los Angeles, but unfortunately we got shut down through half of the shots we planned out to get. We ended up filming in a different, but similar location where we wouldn't get booted. We got enough to get decent edit going, all will go as planned with some unexpected turns.

As far as post production goes I will have to handle some rotoscoping to adding in some explosions via stock footage/maya dynamics. It will be a long process but I tend to work hard on this piece.

Thank you everyone that helped with this project, riders, behind the scene riders, and many more.

Will update soon with some progress!

augh, it's been awhile

I haven't updated lately, currently I'm sitting here watching Iron Man 2 for the third time today.

What's with the latest is I graduated from FIDM's Digital Media program, got a job with
Fox Head in Irvine working as a Motion Graphics designer. Currently taking classes
at SMC for a traditional figure drawing class & a 2D animation class. I am as well working
on some side projects with a couple of friends & self projects. Siked to be working, working
with friends, & working with awesome companies.

I'll update soon. Probably with an update on my particle simulation logo I have been currently
working on for a bmx company.

Well till then,
Stay Golden...

By the way my father resembles Bruce Willis a whole lot after seeing RED, ha...

organic modeling

finally working on my final project

i dunno if this model is a test model or an actual model that i'm going to use in my final project, but its good practice for now to get the organic model workflow.
